Hop Inn on Nathan Road

They locked our door and made us pay HKD 500 for a stained linen. Staff were rude, and asked us to leave a review in return for temporary luggage storage before we'd even seen our room. They also body-shamed my friend and demanded extra payment because he is plus-size.

We booked two rooms for 4 days and 3 nights at Hop Inn on Nathan Road, and the stay was terrible from the start. One room had mould and water dripping straight onto the bed; in the other, the toilet bowl wouldn't fill. The shower was squeezed into the same space as the basin and toilet, leaving no usable room. On the second morning, we asked to cancel the remaining nights and get a refund. Reception refused, saying the hotel had passed government inspection and nearby hotels were now three times as expensive. We booked somewhere else for the rest of the stay. When we returned on the second night to pick up our belongings, our room had already been given to someone else, even though we'd paid and hadn't officially checked out. The positive Google reviews, 4+ stars, are misleading. Our experience was the opposite: unsafe, unhygienic, and unprofessional. I strongly advise against staying here.

Convenient, cheap, clean, and spacious for Hong Kong. Great value for money, probably the best deal you'll find in Tsim Sha Tsui, possibly all of Kowloo. Recommended.

Being near the MTR and within walking distance of Victoria Harbour was the one good thing. The room was smaller than the one we booked, despite being described at check-in as an upgrade. The online photos showed something quite different. They also borrowed my phone during check-in. I could barely understand what was being said, and thought they were checking my reservation, but when I got it back I saw they had left a review for Hop Inn at Nathan Road. I had booked Just Inn at Nathan Road through Trip.com, so I think the two are the same place. I’ve changed the review they seemed to have left for themselves and given it 3 stars instead.
