Bridal Tea House (Yau Ma Tei Wing Sing Lane)

The lobby felt cheerful and welcoming, which was a nice surprise after seeing how rundown and sleazy the hotel looked from a distance 😅. The room was small, as you'd expect from a budget place, but clean, and the beds were so comfortable I fell asleep as soon as I lay down. They brought drinking water daily, and there was a hairdryer and electric kettle. The shower pressure was great, and there's a microwave in the shared area for heating food. I'd stay again.

It was cheap compared with nearby places, and the location was great, only a two-minute walk from the station. But I found bugs in the room, and the soundproofing was awful. I kept hearing the next room in the morning and street noise at night, even though we were on the 15/F. The staff were impolite and unhelpful. It didn't meet the basic requirements for a hotel.

Handy for shopping and nearby places to go out, though finding the entrance in the evening was a bit difficult.

For Hong Kong, the price is very reasonable. I'd say it's far better than the tourist slum Chung King Mansion in Tsim Sha Sui.
