The room felt damp throughout, especially the bathroom. The exhaust fan technically worked, but did nothing to reduce the humidity. Shower water spilled out easily, which made it hard to use the bathroom properly. People see things differently, but making sarcastic remarks without knowing the facts is disrespectful. I'll remember this experience. I hope you'll be more understanding toward guests in the future instead of leaving them with a mocking impression.
Mei was incredibly responsive to all my questions, and made me feel secure on my first visit to HK. I first booked through Airbnb for 2 nights, then realized a day later that work meant I could stay only 1 night. Even though it was so close to my arrival, she kindly refunded the 2nd night without any ill will or mention of cancellation fees. She's an incredible host/?manager. I absolutely LOVE this hotel. The location is great, the rooms are super clean, quiet, and bigger than average, and they have private bathrooms. As a solo female traveller, I felt the location was safe. The price is excellent, and getting here from the airport is super easy, just 1 bus or metro and it arrives right in front of the hotel. A couple of things for foreigners to know. I'm originally from Canada, and HK hotel rooms are MUCH smaller than what we're used to. A private bathroom like the one at Park Yee Inn is super uncommon and such a luxury in HK. In room #9 the bathroom was private, but there's no divide between the shower and toilet, so the whole room gets wet. That's normal to save space, and there are separate slippers for inside the bathroom. Check-in is self-service and there's no reception, but Mei is so responsive that you won't need one.
Rooms are a little small, but that wasn't a problem for a few nights. A great place to stay for a couple of nights in Hong Kong, with a great location.
The rooms are a lot like Korean single-room lodging in Korea, if you know them. I stayed one night and everything was fine for me, especially the soft blanket and pillow. The hotel is easy to find if you follow the instructions the staff send in advance.
Getting to the station is convenient, but I wouldn't recommend staying here. It turned into a hassle over my four-night Airbnb booking. There was a lot of traffic noise at night because the hotel faces a main road. The front desk was unmanned, so I had to message in Cantonese. I used the app's translation feature, but many messages were wrong or missing, and there were several misunderstandings. Check-in and later conversations were difficult, and other guests also said they couldn't understand the check-in process. Housekeeping wasn't permitted, but staff came into my room several times and moved my things. This led to problems and a bad review on Airbnb. I contacted Airbnb, who recognized the owner's unfair behavior and refunded my review, and removed the review. It took about a month to resolve the negotiations. The hotel was supposed to have a washer and dryer, but sheets had been left in the room and made them completely unusable. The elevator was broken, so I had to take the stairs to the fourth floor. The building itself is quite old, and because housekeeping can enter and leave freely, some suspicious people came in and left their belongings.
