Smart Hotel - Hostel

The room was the worst part: it was so cramped that opening my suitcase was uncomfortable, and I spotted a cockroach. One staff member couldn't speak English at all, so whenever I needed help I had to call a man by phone who was stationed by the gate.

A real bargain, with a tidy, nice room and a convenient location.

I paid 192,612 KRW for two nights, August 3-5, 2023, in a double room. The bar street is right behind the accommodation. That was fine for me, though I'd avoid it if you're sensitive to noise. The room has no fridge, so you have to use a shared one. The red duvet and bed cover make stains hard to spot, but the maintenance staff kept the washing machine running. I booked a private room because I didn't want a dorm, and it works if you think of it as a decent goshiwon with its own bathroom. The service was friendly and made me feel comfortable, and the location is handy for getting around Tsim Sha Tsui. Hong Kong really is expensive. If other nearby hotels around 200,000 KRW a night seem terrible, I'd recommend this place, but not to picky or sensitive people.

It's self-service, which is good, though the street gets noisy at night.
