Swiss Hostel

It's in the well-known chungking Mansion, about 100m from the MTR. The room was tiny, and there were bugs and a dirty Towle.

We booked online and were shocked by how different the place was from the photos. chung kin mansion was already dirty and congested. We went in looking for swiss hotel, only to find that “swiss hotel” was a room, not the hotel. A woman, who was Indonesian, took us to another flat in the same mansion called ‘castle inn’. The rooms there were awful, and a pile of laundry waiting to be cleaned was left in the hallway with a strong dirty smell. She said the laundry workers were off or something. The room they first offered for 257 dhs had a cramped bed right beside the bathroom. There was nowhere to put luggage and barely room to walk. The toilet door wouldn't shut, the smell was bad, and the flush didn't work. We called the number by the door and spoke to a person named singh, who said a technician would come in five minutes. After 15 minutes with nobody coming, we called again. He came himself, checked the toilet, and offered another room just like it. We asked for a larger room so we could store our luggage. He showed us a double bedroom that was less cramped but still very dirty, then left and messaged that it would cost 150 dollars a day, 450 for three days. We had already paid 250+, but he wouldn't agree to that. That same night we found another room outside the mansion and left, thankfully. It was one of the worst experiences we've had. We don't recommend staying there, and all the hotels in that mansion seem similar.

The building and the room, including the bathroom, were filthy, and the stairwell smelled horrible. There was hardly any space around the bed, and the bathroom was tiny with a toilet that didn't work properly. The room also wasn't the one shown in the picture. We called the staff several times about the problems and asked them to come up, but they ignored us and never showed. On arrival, we had to ring the number on the door, wait half an hour, and then someone finally came and took us to a different hostel. By far my worst hostel experience.

Nothing but zero stars. The place was unpleasant, dirty everywhere, and reeked. I didn't feel safe around there. Never again, and don't book this hostel. 👎👎👎👎👎👎
