The price was good, and after spending one night sleeping on the airport floor, I found the hostel fine. The bunk was very comfortable, which was all I needed since I just wanted to shower and sleep. I’d expected worse after reading earlier reviews, so I was glad I stayed. It’s on the 13th floor, in one room with several other rooms measuring about 3 by 3 meters and holding six bunk beds each. It was very cramped, and I’m a big man, but all six people in my small room were extremely quiet. The elevator is quite old, though each lift has a camera and there was plenty of elevator traffic. I’d worried about getting stuck after reading reviews, but it was okay. The building is old and ugly, and I think a beautiful new building could have been put here instead. The location is great, and in my opinion, the Hong Kong vibe is all around here.

You get what you pay for, and it’s close to everything, but the building is really old. I stayed in a four-bed bunk room that was extremely small. Honestly, it would’ve been more comfortable with just two people in there. The bed linen felt itchy, too. The hygiene definitely needs to be better.

DO NOT TRUST THIS HOSTEL. I booked through booking.com, and they posted a fake 10/10 review from my account that I didn’t write. I flagged it to booking.com, and Cultural Crashpad replied that they’d handle it. Weeks later, nothing had been done. There was a cockroach in our room. The place was tiny, the bathroom dirty, and reception was hard to find among the flags of other local residents. Be cautious of fake reviews!

Six beds in two rows in a tiny room, and you hit your head on the ceiling going up the ladder. The bathrooms were dirty, there was no daily cleaning, and the Wi-Fi was patchy. Staff were rude and didn’t seem to care. The owner seemed to have only one thing in mind, making more money at all costs. The accommodation was an absolute travesty, taking you back to 19th-century living standards.

From 8/21, this hostel had closed. When I went to check in, I couldn’t find it, and the building manager said, “This hostel left two days ago.” Was this a joke? This was the first time I’d ever had something like this happen, you son of a bitch. Agoda gave me a full refund.
