We were happy with our three-night stay at Weave while I was in town for a conference. The room was compact but enough for us, and we enjoyed the open view from a high floor. It was easy to walk to Olympic and Mongkok stations, and convenient for getting around and finding food. There’s no baggage storage after checkout if you want to leave your bag until your airport trip. They kindly let me check out a little later, though, and that worked out for us. For the price, it was good value, and we’d stay again.

This is a serviced apartment with hotel-style service, and a good deal for a reasonable price, especially for longer stays like mine. Residents get free high-speed Wi-Fi and a smart TV in rooms of different sizes, plus a weekly room cleaning to keep things tidy. The shared facilities include a big living room and dining room, a large modern kitchen, gym, yoga and spin studios, and coin-operated washers and dryers. It’s conveniently located between Olympic and Mong Kok MTR stations. There are lots of nearby eateries, most not expensive, and a whole street of pubs at Pok Man Street if that’s your thing. Staff are friendly and helpful. A lot of residents seem to be students, along with business travellers and people staying long term.

I lived at Weave Olympic for a year. The spaces are nice and kept tidy, and there are events that make it easy to meet people. It’s a good place to move into if you’re new in town. When something in your room breaks or stops working, report it through the app and they’ll fix it the same day. It’s pretty worry-free, though a bit pricey. It was calm for my first two months after moving in July, but when a bunch of students arrived in September, things became noisy and messy, pretty chaotic. I eventually got used to it. I’d still recommend it, but if you have a bigger budget, I’d definitely choose Weave Kowloon West.

If you care about privacy or quiet, I wouldn’t consider this place. Staff can enter your room without notice, noise carries badly because the soundproofing is terrible, and the management does a poor job with residents bringing strangers in overnight or making noise at midnight. Staff are helpful, but seem unable to manage residents who ignore the house rules. Complaints don’t help, and they may not be able to move you to another room. The space is tiny. There’s no appliance for boiling water in the room, so you have to share a hair dryer with your roommate. The in-room refrigerator isn’t cold enough for ice or frozen food. There isn’t enough kitchen space, with one kitchen shared by residents on all floors. No toilet paper is provided, and the room bin is small, so you have to take larger rubbish to a nearby garbage station yourself. In a twin room, the air-conditioning control for the shared area is inside one of the rooms. If that person is out, you can’t turn the shared air conditioning on or off unless you call staff. The washing and drying machines often don’t work properly, and there are only four of each for all residents, so busy periods can mean a long wait. The app isn’t useful and the network is slow. It’s not worth the price, just a student hostel priced like a hotel.

Weave is my usual choice when I’m in HK. I’ve had a great experience with the community, facilities and staff, and they run lots of events each month if you want to socialize and meet people. Christine, Yannes and Monique have been great hosts at events and are always ready to help when I have a concern.
