ZEN Rooms Nathan Road

The Filipino staff were friendly, though the Indian management weren't very welcoming. The hostel is right by Exit A1 of Tsim Sha Tsui MTR station, on busy Nathan Road, so Mirador Mansion was easy to find. Inside, though, there was nothing to guide you, and the elevator queue got long, especially at rush hour. The hostel floor had no signs and wasn't impressive. For the price, I thought I was getting a good deal by Hong Kong standards, but I could have found better places for the same amount. The room was tiny, even by HK standards, and the bathroom was tighter still. You shower right beside the toilet with no divider, so everything feels cramped. The hot water wasn't great, and they weren't generous with towels. The mattress was okay for one night, but not especially comfortable. The linen was clean and there was no bad smell, but there were no windows and the WiFi was awful. You are in the middle of the TST shopping district, but I'd look farther away for the same price. I wouldn't return.

I couldn't find the place, and when I called the number on the webpage, nobody answered at first. When someone finally picked up, they said they couldn't reach their own staff. Then the person on the phone messaged me on WhatsApp and told me to go to another “motel”. Even though I'd made a booking, I had to look for another hotel. The service was terrible, really more like no service at all.

It was basic and inexpensive, but clean, with most of the essentials provided: a towel, toiletries, toothbrush, refrigerator, safe, and hot water. The location was good too.

For the price, I was impressed. The room was clean and quiet, and it suited my short stay really well. I'd recommend it.
