Hyatt Regency Lanzhou

The river views from our corner suite were beautiful, with about 270 degrees looking out over the Yellow River, mountains, and city. We were on the top floor in the penthouse, and the room felt huge. The layout worked so well: the bathroom was down the hall, separate from the toilet, and very oversized, with a big shower, bath, and double vanity. There were also large robes for clothes. I hate when the bathroom is right next to the bed, so this setup meant my partner wouldn't wake me up using it at night. The bed was super comfortable, and housekeeping and turndown felt very trustworthy. After a big night out, when we'd left a bit of a mess, they even folded my clothes. We'd had the world famous Lanzhou noodles for breakfast, my favourite. We're from Australia, and my wife is Chinese born. The staff were incredibly polite, friendly, and welcoming to both of us. I don't know who rated this as a 3 star hotel, it was 100% 5 star to me. I've stayed at many hotels and grand Hyatts around the world, and this one in Lanzhou was by far the best. We'd booked two nights and planned to spend another three at a different hotel, but after the first night we decided to stay. It was a long weekend public holiday, so we were very lucky they could accommodate us, and we didn't have to change rooms. The hotel is right in the heart of the cbd, with everything nearby or a short ¥10 taxi ride away. Everything in Lanzhou is a ¥10 taxi ride. Don't bother looking at other hotels, this one's the best. I just wish we'd stayed here on all our trips. I love Lanzhou and this hotel.
