Raffles Hainan Clear Water Bay

We had a lovely stay at Hotel Raffles in Hainan. The room was cozy, clean, and very pleasant, and breakfast had an excellent range. The price felt very good for what we got, and the service was exceptional. It’s also close to many attractions. The team were friendly, patient, and helpful throughout. We don’t speak Chinese, but the staff were especially gentle and helpful, particularly Mr.viliame, Mr.Mark, Ms.Lynn & Mr.Mren. They were there for any concern, whatever the time of day or night. I’d definitely stay at Hotel Raffles again and would send friends there too.

We had a great view over the bay at this amazing place in Clearwater Hainan, and I really didn’t want to leave the room. It was large and well equipped, with a very comfortable bed. Lunch was excellent, probably some of the best I’ve had at a luxury hotel. This is probably the best hotel I’ve ever seen. Five stars well deserved.

Two of our three rooms still weren’t ready until 6 pm, even though we’d told the hotel the day before that we’d arrive at 2 pm. But the much more serious problem was safety. There was a huge amount of glass debris, from large pieces to fine particles, hidden underneath the fruit on the plate. My three year old had been playing with and eating the fruit throughout our stay before we found it. She could have been badly cut or even swallowed glass. That’s completely unacceptable at any hotel, let alone a five star resort like Raffles. The follow-up from the hotel was just as upsetting. They promised to get back to us within a day, but I heard nothing until I called again three days later. They showed little remorse and offered laughable compensation: first a soft toy, then a room voucher that expired in eight months, after I pushed back several times. I urge people to be aware and stay away. They don’t care about your safety or satisfaction.

The beach is unbelievably beautiful, with white sand, and the views across the whole hotel are gorgeous. The service was super friendly, and it was so relaxing. Thank you!
