We were told we’d been “upgraded” because we booked four rooms, and got a “suite” made up of three connected bedrooms. The rooms were shockingly dated. Hygiene was poor throughout this old hotel, especially in the toilet, and I suspect the bed cover and pillowcase hadn’t been changed after the previous guest. Water also costs RMB2 a bottle, which I find unacceptable when other hotels provide it free. Other guests left their doors open to smoke and gamble in their rooms 🤨🤨🤨. After seeing that, I didn’t dare try the other facilities, including the hot spring pool.

The hotel’s hot springs are its main attraction, and the rooms are spacious. It’s an older place, but it’s clean and well maintained.

A good base for exploring the surrounding Tulou. The hotel is good, and the hot spring has lots of different pools as well as a large swimming pool.

Really nice!

The hot spring park was the highlight for me. I heard it has 35 different pools, including herbal, milk, fish, and wine baths. We could identify the fish pools, which had ordinary hot spring temperatures, but couldn’t find the others. The water was warm enough, roughly 40 degrees Celsius, with some pools around 38 or 39. There were no temperature displays, so I was estimating by feel. A soak at night was very relaxing. If you’re visiting Yongding, it seems worth staying here after seeing the Tulou or other attractions, enjoying the local food, and unwinding in the hot springs instead of hurrying into the city. There are many hot spring hotels around, and this one is above average. As for the hotel itself, it’s regarded as relatively high-end for Yongding District, though I’d put it at about four stars. The first-floor lobby is nicely decorated, clean and quiet, with a large pine tree that looks artificial. The room was nice, though cleanliness could be better. I’d heard the room water came from hot springs, but couldn’t tell.
