The only drawback I found was needing a taxi to reach the east side of the river. The west side is being redeveloped, and the construction currently looks like new housing. The hotel itself is beautiful, clean, comfortable, and safe, with lovely rooms and views. It seems relatively new, and it's a great hotel even by Western standards. The concierge team is keen to help, though their English is very broken, so Google Translate gets you by. There are beautiful steam showers, a modern tub, and lots of complimentary toiletries. I got the sense they really want guests to feel this is a top regional hotel.

I booked a river-view room for my family for 10 days, from 29 Nov to 9 Dec, at ¥800 a night. Room 350X had broken central air conditioning. The hotel said there was nothing they could do, but they could bring a warmer fan if we felt cold. Hahaha, a fan in a five-star hotel. What a joke. I'll never stay here again.

The restaurant food was terrible and unsanitary, and the hotel was very dirty, nowhere near Western standards. My first room was a smoking room, even though I was told it wasn't. Then they charged me 200 RMB for a non-smoking room, which obviously smelled like an ashtray too. The shower drain was plugged, so I had to stand in dirty water. Terrible!

It's far from the city center, but having an ATM inside the hotel is very convenient for overseas travelers.

The hotel rooms are very new, and the facilities feel good and easy to use. The breakfast buffet has lots of different dishes and is worth trying.
