Huanghai Hotel

The station is right in front, which makes getting around convenient, though the subway trip from the airport takes a little while. As of August 2024, towels and shampoo were provided, and they brought other things I needed to the room. There weren't extra unnecessary items. The shower had good pressure and temperature, and the complimentary water was a nice touch. I liked the calm furnishings and interior. It's a very nice hotel, though, speaking from a Japanese perspective, I can be sensitive to hair left behind after bathroom cleaning.

The room wasn't especially big, but it was quiet and looked out toward the beach. The Yellow Sea Hotel sits next to the First Bathing Beach, Underwater World, and Luxun Park, which makes visiting Qingdao's coastal spots easy. I was very satisfied with my stay. The surroundings were pleasant and the decor was nice, while the service stood out most. Room service kept everything spotless, greeted me with a smile, and proactively checked whether I needed help. Staff throughout were friendly and attentive. Breakfast had plenty of choices and was quite good. The lunch buffet cost 138 yuan, felt like good value, and offered a broad menu to suit different tastes. The hotel is very close to the First Bathing Beach, less than a ten-minute walk, with convenient transport.

Our travel agency booked this hotel for my family's trip to Qingdao. The lobby seemed dated, like an older building with a fresh coat of paint, and the room's Chinese and Western decor felt mismatched. Still, it was fairly clean and the service was decent.

The Huanghai Hotel is well placed near the First Bathing Beach, with Badaguan Scenic Area, the Naval Museum, Zhongshan Park, and the Zoo also close by. Its facilities seemed fairly new, and breakfast offered a generous selection of tasty dishes.
