Being a little outside the main tourist areas made the stay more peaceful, which I liked, and it’s still convenient for getting around Shanghai. I stayed three nights and had a good experience. The room was spacious, especially the living area, and was a nice place to rest after exploring. The toilet setup wasn’t very practical, though. Its door wouldn’t stay shut, so we had to hold it closed with a towel.

The reception staff could have been more courteous and smiled more. The concierge, by comparison, was much more pleasant and helpful, and seemed keen to assist. I loved the quiet, modern, luxurious feel, especially the breakfast and dining area and facilities. There are a few open-air smoking spots that are relaxing. The rooms are modern and spacious, and cafes and 7e and other conveniences are nearby.

The room’s minimalist design, a bit like Japan’s, was quite nice. It had a small waterproof Bluetooth speaker, a bathtub with a shower hose, a bidet, automatic curtains, and comfortable simple sofas. There was also quiet air conditioning through vents, a pull-out drawer fridge, coffee pods, and a tea set.

My corner deluxe king room was very generous, around 65 square meters, with great views and a comfortable work seating area. The bathroom was large, with a shower area and a nice tub. Everything felt well done, and the price for the room was really below market. The hotel has a pretty modern design by the well-known architect Neri and Hu. It’s a bit far from the center, but there are lots of malls and places to eat about a 10-minute walk away. There’s also metro access from the Starbucks across the courtyard. The staff were friendly and accommodating and tried to help with issues. I liked the gym, which had quite a lot of equipment and was usually empty. I didn’t eat at the indoor dining spots, though the menu looked good.
