Atour Hotel People’s Square Metro Station Shanghai

There are restaurants, eateries, and convenience stores along the stretch next to the hotel. The twin room had plenty of space and felt clean and cosy. Breakfast had a good selection, especially local dishes like noodles and porridge. A very nice stay.

During my 7 nights in China, this was the best hotel I stayed at. It felt like a different class from the two Holiday Inn Express hotels I stayed in in smaller towns. The interior was clean, modern, comfortable, and spacious. Staff were helpful, and the buffet breakfast was decent. The location was superb, with a train nearby, though we ended up not using it. People’s Square was within walking distance, and there were lots of local small grocers and food right outside. I'd definitely prioritize trying other Atour hotels on future trips to China.

I booked two rooms for my family, and they let us check in early to one of them. Both rooms were clean and spacious enough. What made the stay memorable was how hard the staff worked to help us, especially Lin Shiyin and Lin Shuyuan. Neither they nor I spoke the other's language, but after a few calls to the airline's customer hotline, they managed to correct my son's name on the ticket. Really appreciate it. Thank you very much for your service, Shiyin! Well done.

The room was clean and there were no issues with that, but it was noisy. We could hear the sewage taking everything from the neighbors all the time. Not all staff speak English.
