Hotel Holiday Inn Express SHANGHAI JINSHA by IHG

During our group stay from September 22 to 24, 2025, in room 539, we found the rooms clean and comfortable, and breakfast was acceptable. What left us most upset was losing two brand new jackets. We clearly remember seeing them in the room before we left, then contacted the hotel through our tour guide the following day. We were told nothing had been found, and the jackets couldn't be recovered.

We booked a twin room but were given a queen bed with a small extra bed. The bathroom was very old and dirty, and there was no hot water for one whole evening, so I had to shower cold. Service was very bad, and the staff weren't friendly or helpful. I stayed for three days during June 10-14, but checked out a day early even though I had paid for the whole stay. When I asked for breakfast to take away because I had to leave at 6:00am, they couldn't even pack a single piece of bread.

The staff made the stay, from an easy check-in to the manager, Mr. Song, who was always around, either at reception or in the restaurant. He worked tirelessly and went out of his way to help me with a personal issue. Everyone was attentive, efficient, and helpful. I arrived planning to spend two days each at different places in Shanghai, then changed my plans and stayed here for nine days. It felt like home, with a cozy room and AC that worked perfectly during Shanghai's record-breaking heat wave. Downstairs, the restaurant had a lovely breakfast spread. Along with the usual Holiday Inn options, there were plenty of Chinese dishes for all tastes. As a world traveler, I can say I felt right at home.

The breakfast buffet had a good variety, and the staff were friendly and went out of their way to make sure I had what I needed. My room was modern, clean, and well equipped, with a comfortable bed and a spacious, clean bathroom. I had a wonderful stay at Holiday Inn Express Jinshia. It's conveniently located for nearby attractions, and I'd recommend it to anyone wanting a comfortable stay in the area.
