The location and transport connections are very good, and the staff are friendly, but the hotel itself was horrible. The photos in the ads don't match reality at all. On arrival, the place looked ugly and seemed like a scam. The hallways reeked of cigarette smoke, and the carpet smelled like feet. The rooms weren't cleaned properly and smelled bad. At night, I could hear all the noise from the hallway and the street traffic outside, and the beds were rock hard. It wasn't even the cheapest option, and the quality was terrible. I care more about the place itself, so I cancelled on the first day because what I got felt like a scam compared with what was advertised and what I paid.

There were three adults and two children in our group. We'd go out in the morning and come back at night, and it worked well for us. Everything was good, and I'd really recommend it, except it's not near a Subway station.

Nice hotel, really good place to stay with family, safe and classy.

The location is central, and the AC and Wi-Fi are strong, so the hostel does what it needs to. But the shared bathrooms are filthy, and you can smell them in the hallways. Get a room with its own bathroom. Guests were also very rude, smoking in rooms and making noise and turning on lights late at night. The hostel may not be able to control that, but with the serious smoking problem I wouldn't recommend it to anyone with asthma or other lung issues.

I felt safe and comfortable traveling alone as a Muslim woman in Shanghai. The scenery was beautiful, day or night, and everything seemed clean. I also found the city convenient, and as someone who doesn't speak Chinese, I thought the signs were considerate and welcoming. This was my third time in China, after Hong Kong and Shenzhen, and I hope to explore more cities there. At Hotel Meego Youth, a female customer service staff member was very helpful. I can't remember her name, but she stayed in touch with me on WeChat and kept assisting me until I finally arrived around 7 a.m. I'd called from the airport at 3 a.m. and was waiting for the train to start running at 6, since my Didi e-Hailing wasn't set up properly. A random taxi wanted 250 yuan, while the train cost only 14.25 yuan.
