The staff are friendly and always do their best to help. They even order food for me, which is useful since ordering food in China requires a Chinese phone number and that's not easy to get as a non-local. It's a quiet spot in a technology park, close to the metro, and the Bund takes about 20 minutes to reach. The rooms look like the photos, modern, clean and cosy, and the beds are as comfortable as in most 4- and 5-star hotels. For a 3-star place, it's surprisingly good value. I plan to stay again. Around Christmas, a night costs about £40 on average.

The lobby was a good place to spend time during the day, with chairs and strong Wi-Fi. The room Wi-Fi was fast, too. I stayed five days in room 8246. The room and bathroom were clean, with good hot water, but the room was very compact and felt overpriced. There was hardly space for luggage or to walk around, though the bathroom was a little more spacious than the bedroom. The front desk staff were kind, and check-in and check-out were easy. Breakfast was average, with Chinese food plus bread and jam. They didn't leave a knife on the table, so you had to spread the jam with chopsticks, and there was no butter. A food delivery robot was busy bringing orders to rooms. The hotel's very close to SNIEC, which is a plus and seems to be why people pay more despite the small rooms. There's a supermarket, SIM card shop, restaurants, Watsons and a drugstore nearby. The closest mall is 600 meters away, attached to Kerry hotel.

I liked the bed, and the room was clean and convenient. There was still some cigarette smell around, though.

I didn't have a reservation, but 1100 RMB, or 160 dollars, for one night in such a tiny room with a little bed was way too much. I was charged more than at the Marriott or any other hotel around.
