Breakfast was a letdown, with very few choices for a luxury hotel and food that felt cheap and basic, more like a cafeteria than an upscale buffet. I also found clear cleaning oversights in the room: there was thick dust in the sliding door gap when it was closed, and the hallway chair was extremely dusty, as if it hadn’t been cleaned for months. These issues left me disappointed, since the stay didn’t feel like a true 5-star experience. I hope management takes the feedback seriously and improves housekeeping.

If you’re after nature and a family vacation, this place is a great fit. It’s a little far from the city center, but we enjoyed the setting.

I loved the hotel’s amenities and the view from my window. But as a woman traveling alone, I wish the hotel had put my safety first when arranging a taxi. I asked the hotel to book one after hearing warnings about taxi drivers in China. At 5 am, the concierge walked me to a taxi waiting in the lobby. The driver spoke broken English and repeatedly tried to hug me while driving. At one point he pulled over on the highway to urinate while I waited in the car. I was terrified. The fare to Pu Dong airport was over 300 Yuen, and I was so scared that I forgot to get his details to report him.

Shanghai can be hard to escape for some peace and quiet, but this hotel was a good place to unwind and spend the weekend with family. The price was reasonable too.
