Hilton Sanqingshan Resort

The location is beautiful, the rooms are Hilton standard and look out over the cliff, and the ropeway is a five minute walk away. It's also a lovely area for hiking. Those were the good parts. The service was pathetic. The AC wasn't working. A technician came twice during the night but couldn't fix it, and it was only sorted the next day after I asked to change rooms. Room service cleaned the room but left the used towels and dirty cups and plates, so I had to call again. They emptied the trash can but left rubbish around, and although the bed was made, it still looked messy. The TV showed a room service menu, but when we scanned the QR code, 75% of the items weren't available. I could keep going. I've never had service like this at any Hilton hotel.

The room was extremely clean, and the staff were super friendly and considerate. We also enjoyed the all you can eat breakfast. We were very satisfied with the service and would definitely come again. I booked the stay for my parents' road trip, and the staff went above and beyond when we had trouble with the car. The manager sent a driver to check it out. He wasn't a mechanic, but he checked what he could and shared more information that helped us eventually get the car repaired.

The location is nice, and if you get a room with a balcony, you can enjoy fresh air. The staff, though, didn't meet Hilton standard. The front desk staff doesn't speak English, and F&B struggled when a larger group arrived at once. Some staff were downright unfriendly. It may be the best choice in the area, but I expected more from this brand name.

The bed was too soft and uncomfortable, and meals at the restaurant were expensive. After the first night, I spent my second night at another nearby hotel. Breakfast for $88 Yuan wasn't up to standard, just the typical local Chinese breakfast you find at other hotels. The location on Google map may not be accurate. The facilities are very grand, but if you're there for trekking, you'd be better off booking a hotel inside the park to see sunrise and sunset. I'd forget about staying here.
