The Cloud Dwelling room had a great view, but nearby hotels seemed to offer much the same, and the listing photos set expectations too high. At nearly 3000rmb/night, I expected better basics. The AC couldn't get the room below 27°C, so even with a fan from reception, it stayed hot and we didn't sleep comfortably. Service was okay, but there was no breakfast, no English-speaking staff, cheap-feeling fittings like the bathtub faucet, and nowhere to leave our bags after checkout. Other hotels nearby on our trip were great. This one felt like Instagram versus reality, and we felt we'd paid far too much for what we got. Based on our experience, I wouldn't recommend it to foreigners.

I was at the cafe, taking my time with a drink and looking out over the valley. Such an amazing view, it made me want to slow down.
