Four Points By Sheraton Shenzhen Bao'An

My flight left quite late at night, so Gwen Luo extended my stay until 4 pm. That was fantastic service, and she was very helpful.

The hotel is handy for Bao’An and malls like Uniwalk and Joycity, though getting to central Shenzhen takes longer. Huaqiangbei Electronics Market is usually about 30 to 40 minutes away by car or metro. For my trip, the hotel offered very good value, with comfortable rooms, useful amenities, and a team that seemed committed to looking after guests. I’d happily stay again or recommend it, especially if you want to be in Bao’An. Breakfast was a real bright spot: plenty of Western and Chinese choices, including fresh juices, Cantonese dim sum, and local snacks. One evening I had a quiet drink at the bar, which was relaxed and uncrowded. The gym upstairs had a good selection of equipment and city views, nice after a long day. My room was spacious, clean, and laid out in a modern, practical way. The bedside USB ports and wireless charging were handy, and the bed was comfortable. The pillows felt too soft for me, but I still slept well. From the moment I arrived, the lobby felt clean and welcoming. Check-in was quick and polite, and the staff helped me feel at ease despite the language differences. They also shared useful suggestions for nearby places to eat and visit.

The area was bright at night, with lots of people out drinking, and there’s a large public gathering space across the street where locals meet for recreation. Getting around takes some time: about 30 minutes to Coco park, an hour to longkang, and 1 to 1.5 hours from HK airport. It didn’t feel very accessible. We had a superior suite, and it was good. The room had a flexible round mirror for makeup, a bathroom with strong water pressure, anti-slip flooring and matting, and a bidet toilet with a good automatic flush. The minibar was restocked daily with four waters and four kinds of soda. There was a Nespresso machine but no pods, which seemed odd. Room service came by robot, and delivery orders could be left on racks outside the hotel door. The doorman regularly opened the door for us, which made getting into our Didi feel safer, as if someone was seeing us to the car. A few things were missing, though: there was no sanitary bag on the first day, and we expected at least a fruit platter in a suite. Breakfast was nice for Chinese food, but the Western options were less successful. The cheese and ham platter didn’t have much flavor.

Breakfast had lots of choices and was really good, and there are plenty of restaurants on the nearby streets, with a big mall close by too. The hotel itself is small, new, and nice, in Shenzhen Bao’an district. The room had everything I needed, including a good bathroom with a rain shower. I also liked the free canned soft drinks in the minibar, the welcome platter of fruit and nuts, and the toilet’s heated automatic bidet seat. I’d stay here again.
