Four Points By Sheraton Shenzhen Bay

There’s just one working elevator for the hotel, so waits were an issue. The hotel occupies part of an office building and has no proper lobby. Cars can’t stop well at the entrance, there’s no concierge, and nobody helped with luggage. The parcel experience was frustrating too. I had ordered items from Taobao, but there was no concierge to receive them. At first, staff told me to find the parcels myself somewhere in the building. They only helped after I pushed back strongly. What kind of service is that? Edit: It seems my parcel may have gone to the old Four Points by Sheraton in Shenzhen’s Futian area. Their concierge handles parcels much more effectively. I do appreciate that the team here at least tried to find the right contact. Check-in was extremely unfriendly. The junior staff seemed unsure what they were doing, and the manager wasn’t better. As a Bonvoy Titanium Elite member, I wasn’t upgraded to the room I wanted even though it was available. First I was assigned a Premium City View, then moved down to a Bay View, which made no sense. I also wasn’t offered a welcome gift. Staff tried to choose breakfast for me, and only after I reminded them that breakfast, if provided, still left me entitled to choose the 500 points welcome gift did they give me both. Guests shouldn’t have to explain basic Bonvoy benefits to staff. The manager did try to make things right, to be fair, but it was too late by then. Don’t expect much service here. This doesn’t meet international standards. There are some good points: breakfast staff are courteous, there’s a good range of food, housekeeping is reliable, and two washers and dryers are available.
