Four Points by Sheraton Shenzhen Guangming

The room was nice, and the service was what you’d expect from Sheraton. The location is a bit out of the way, with no old street, night market, or busy downtown area within walking distance. There’s just a small shop next door. For food and drinks, apart from the hotel restaurant, the nearest option is Wanda Plaza, a little over 1 km away, so you’ll need to take a D there. The scenic and entertainment area in Nanshan is about a 30-minute drive. For independent travel in mainland China, these apps are handy: DiDi makes it easy to get a car quickly, and Dazhong Dianping is my go-to for vegetarian food.

I was in town for business and stayed at the Shenzhen Guangming Four Points by Sheraton, which opened in 2025. The location isn’t very convenient: it takes about an hour from the airport, and a taxi from Shenzhen North Station takes around 35 to 60 minutes depending on traffic. The 24-hour gym has a fairly complete set of equipment, though the pool wasn’t open. There’s a pool table on the first floor, and self-service washers and dryers on the second, which are useful for business travelers. Nearby there isn’t much to see. There’s a Meiyijia convenience store, while Wanda and the metro station are about a 15 to 20-minute walk away. Happy hour runs from 1730 to 1930 and is pretty good. They have red and white wine, other drinks, two hot dishes, plus some salad and dessert. It’s not amazing, but it’s nice that everyone can enjoy it.

There’s really nothing nearby. The rooms, lounge, complimentary services, and other facilities are all great, though. Everything is very clean and well organized.
