The hotel is close to the subway, which is convenient. At check-in, the staff spoke Mandarin so quickly that I didn't catch the details. I finished the formalities and paid the deposit, then asked about late checkout. They said yes, but it hadn't been entered in the computer. I went back to confirm the next morning, and the staff member told me there was no record and I couldn't use the room after noon. She fixed the entry for me, and I was grateful. I was upgraded to an executive room. It was clean and quiet, with thoughtful decor, a large bathtub, and a Japanese-style automatic toilet. The evening buffet had lots of choices, tasted good, and included plenty of lobster, abalone, bird's nest, and hot pot. Breakfast was a disaster. The restaurant was crowded, and nobody showed me to a table. I picked two small tables at the side, ate some bread, made coffee, and put tea in my pantry. When I went to get more food, someone had cleared the table and another guest had sat down. It was outrageous. The staff told me to sit somewhere else when I complained. I insisted on my original table, and only then did they lead me to another one. I've never seen a hotel handle it this way.
