Pullman Changshu Leeman

The hotel grows a wide range of vegetables on its own farm and even keeps hens. At Royal Pavilion Chinese restaurant there’s a good selection of meals, while Olive Restaurant serves breakfast buffet-style every day, plus buffet dinners on Fridays and Saturdays. The staff were friendly and helpful, and my room was clean, tidy, comfortable, and quiet.

The breakfast was actually decent, with a good range of food that was fresh and of reasonable quality. The young bellhop also deserves a star, probably the only good employee I met. Keep your expectations low and you won’t be disappointed. The polished exterior and lobby felt deceptive. Staff at the front desk and Chinese restaurant showed no enthusiasm. Room 705 reeked of cigarettes, enough to make me nauseous and dizzy. I asked to move to 720. The smell was lighter there, but still strange and unpleasant, and both pillowcases smelled of hair grease.

The room was comfortable and quiet, and the location worked fine, with a few restaurants within walking distance. Changshu Leeman staff took very good care of us during our stay. Breakfast was really good, with food replenished quickly and always fresh.

I’m an ALL gold member and they upgraded me to an executive room. The room and hotel facilities were good and well maintained. I was also invited for drinks and dinner at the Executive Lounge, on the floor reserved for executives. Two nights went by too quickly, and I’ll definitely come back.
