There isn't much shopping nearby, mostly restaurants, and everything else is about half an hour away. The hotel has a grand lobby with luxurious decor, and the lobby on each floor is decorated too. They put a lot into creating a cultural atmosphere, though the lighting is dim and barely enough to find your way around. The room was a good size with a bathtub and separate shower and toilet areas, but crossing from one side to the other can feel chilly, if you know what I mean. The bed was comfortable, the view was good, and JW Marriott had the right pillows. The shower room flooring was chipping and needs maintenance.

The room was spacious, and the decor reflects Xi’an's culture, so I'd recommend it for a first visit. But maybe it's a management issue: nobody answered the service call at midnight, which felt a little weird for a luxury Marriott brand.

We had a fantastic stay. The beds were so comfortable, breakfast had a grand spread, and the staff were attentive throughout. Sami Z. at the front desk was part of the amazing service.

The hotel is new and modern, with a nice, spacious room and a good location. The subway station is only 200m away, and in Xi’an you can get around by train without needing cabs.
