Homeinn Selected Hotel (Xiamen Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street)

The rooms were spacious and clean, with good lighting, quiet cooling, and no cigarette smell. Our room for three adults had two king beds, and the shower room was large. Soundproofing could be better, but it was acceptable. The reception on the fourth floor was bright and tidy; there’s no real lobby to hang out in, and the entrance is just a lift on the ground floor beside the shops. Rooms take up a large part of that floor. Location was much closer to the metro and Zhongshan Road pedestrian street than I expected from the map. The hotel is on Siming Road, opposite a mall, and near Laohucheng shopping mall. Before booking I’d worried it looked a bit out of the way, including from Pasak seafood market, but it was actually close. There’s a reasonably priced local Chinese restaurant by the hotel, two storefronts from Starbucks, with fair portions. I tried several places before finding it. At another restaurant, we sat down after seeing an offer of 10 oysters for 10 RMB, only to be told it wasn’t available anymore. What you see may not be what you get.
