The location is good and the room was nice, but the service fell short of Bonvoy standards. At reception, the staff checked the system but didn't seem sure I was a member. They didn't greet me, welcome me back, or mention the 500 welcome points, so I didn't feel welcome at all. For Chinese New Year's Day, there wasn't even a mandarin orange in the room or a card wishing me a happy new year.

It has a great luxury feel, though the food could be better. Bring a swimming cap for the pool, or the staff will bother you about it.

Everything else was good, but I had an odd experience on the 11th floor, though I'm not sure if anyone else has noticed the same thing. In Room 1107, around 2 PM, something singing right by my ear woke me up. I'd never heard that song before. It was very clear, like someone whispering close to my ear. I stayed two days and one night.

The part that bothered me most was seeing people smoke inside the hotel. Parents also let their kids run around, touch the food, cough on it, and yell. I would have given the place a better rating otherwise.

The hotel has a roomy terrace and good spots to eat and drink, with a restaurant on the 3rd floor and a bar on the 5th. I was happy with the breakfast, friendly staff, and great facilities, especially for an affordable rate. It isn't in the city center, but the airport is about 20 minutes away, the center about 30 minutes, and a nearby golf course around 20 minutes.
