The staff were helpful, though no one spoke English, which I’d expect at a four-star hotel. The place itself felt shabby: dirty windows, a smelly bathroom, and an odd smell from the AC. It’s in an office building with only two elevators serving 33 floors. Accor’s website lists a bar and restaurant, but neither is there. This doesn’t feel like a four-star hotel, and I wouldn’t recommend it.

This felt like an old building that had been refurbished, not a proper hotel. Guests were allowed to smoke in their rooms, and the smell reached other guests who didn’t smoke. It wasn’t worth the money, and I’m disappointed Mercure accepts this standard.

We asked the receptionist about a restaurant and bar, only to be told the hotel had neither. She didn’t speak English, either. The service was absolutely terrible, and it reflects badly on management’s training. I was visiting with the founder of the leading hotel school DND, and she was shocked by how poor the service was. I’ll never stay at a Mercure hotel again.

It was alright, but honestly I wouldn’t call it a four-star hotel. Three stars at most. The hotel shares its building with commercial offices.

The receptionist gave excellent service, and I was upgraded to the top floor. The island and sea views from there were great.
