Wangyi Inn was a great value for the price, and the staff made me feel welcome right away. They were friendly, spoke enough English to help, and shared useful local tips for Tianmen Mountain, about a 10-minute drive away, and Wulingyuan scenic area. It's in central Yongding district on Jiefang Road (No. 168), close to Dayongfu Palace, restaurants and KFC/McDonald's. Buses and taxis are easy to get for the national park or railway station, and the area is convenient without feeling chaotic. My room was spotless, modern and thoughtfully decorated, nicer than some pricier hotels I've stayed in. The bed and fresh linens were comfortable, WiFi was free and reliable, the air conditioning worked well, and the shower had good hot water and pressure. After hiking the sandstone peaks in Zhangjiajie National Park, I liked relaxing on the rooftop terrace and looking out at the view. There's also a garden area that gives the place a calm, cozy feel. It didn't seem overly touristy, and everything was well maintained. The restaurant was another highlight. The food felt fresh and carefully prepared, with a focus on organic and healthy choices. There were plenty of vegetarian and plant-based dishes using local, seasonal ingredients, like stir-fried vegetables, tofu, steamed greens, potatoes and salads. Breakfast had fresh fruit, whole grains, lighter congee and homemade-style options that left me feeling energized for a day exploring the Avatar mountains. The restaurant serves from morning to evening. The dining spaces are peaceful too. You can eat or sip tea on the rooftop with city and distant peak views, or sit among plants in the garden. I could have spent hours there with a book. If you enjoy clean, healthy food and atmospheric places to eat, Wangyi Inn's restaurant is well worth trying. I especially recommend eating there instead of going out every time. For the cost, the service, location and quiet place to unwind were hard to beat. If you're visiting Zhangjiajie for the Avatar mountains or Tianmen Cave, I'd highly recommend Wangyi Inn. I'll definitely stay again next time.

The room was spotless, with a lovely traditional feel. But the receptionist made the stay especially memorable. She was so kind and helpful, quick to respond, and helped us plan our time there as well as sort out several other issues. A big thank you to her, I'd absolutely recommend this place! 🥰

The rooms were nice, and breakfast was tasty. The hosts were lovely and very helpful, with a translator device ready to use. When my boot hurt my foot so badly I could barely walk, they helped me find a supermarket to buy flip flops. There’s also access to the roof, with a lovely view, and the interior is really mind-blowing. To find it, go west on Huilong Road from the bridge over the river, staying on the right side as you face west. It’s near Starbucks and McDonald's, across from a walled government building with a garden inside. The first three photos look east.

Patrick made a big difference to our stay. He suggested good trails in the nearby forests and arranged transportation, which was a huge help since we only speak English and Chinese was the only language really spoken in the area. The hotel itself had a stylish lobby, was spotless and well maintained, and our room was spacious with modern amenities and lovely design. We had a fantastic experience at Wangy Inn and are already planning to come back. It’s rare to find a place so committed to cleanliness and such thoughtful service.

Patrick’s recommendations and help arranging transportation made our stay at Wangy Inn memorable. The lobby was cool, the rooms were very clean, and the service was exceptional. We had a great time and would highly recommend it.
