Hotel Ibiza

The room was noisy, and there wasn’t enough hot water for everyone. I asked three times for an extra blanket because the ones there were small and we were cold. The receptionist agreed each time but never brought one. She also seemed a little annoyed, perhaps because I wouldn’t switch from a room with two beds to one with only one. The room was clean, though, and the woman working the night shift was very kind.

The staff were very friendly, but I wouldn’t recommend staying here. The facilities in the photos don’t look like the actual place. You book ahead, then have to pay in cash when you arrive, and that’s when they add VAT. In my case, it was over $100,000 extra, even though the reservation confirmation email showed the total amount due.

The staff were friendly and very helpful, but the owners should put more into improving the experience. The hotel is right downtown, with workshops, homeless people, and sex workers nearby. It’s very cheap and has a bit of a motel feel. The overall smell is clean, with hints of a brothel, and the cleaning seemed superficial. If you sleep heavily, you might be okay; otherwise, I wouldn’t stay. I wouldn’t come back.

There’s no parking at the hotel, so you have to use the lot behind it, which is very expensive. A night costs $15 regardless of what time you arrive. On our first night there was so much noise that I couldn’t sleep at all. I’m not sure if it came from the receptionist’s friends or drunk guests.
