The decor is beautiful, but the design is poor. Bathroom windows open straight into the hotel restaurant, so there's no privacy and food smells could get in while you're using the bathroom. The floors were stained and dirty, as if they hadn't been mopped. There were marks on both the room and bathroom floors that could've been mud, chocolate, or... something else. The gardens are superb, but cluttered. I also wish some of the money spent on Christmas decorations had gone toward better food, both in quality and quantity.

The meals were freshly cooked, beautifully presented, and tasted excellent. We had dinner and breakfast at the restaurant, though be aware that one gin and tonic costs $20,000. Our room was close enough to hear the restaurant noise. We first had no water at all, then there was no hot water for showers. We also had to change rooms because the balcony door wouldn't lock and rattled noisily in the wind. The pool looked lovely, but the water was very chilly. The hotel was extremely clean, but the sauna had gardening tools in it and the spa door was locked.

The staff were incredibly friendly and genuine. They even drove us into town a few times so we wouldn't have to deal with a taxi. The beds were the most comfortable we've had in Colombia during our three weeks of travel across different cities. The property is gorgeous, with rolling hills and countryside stretching out for miles. The hotel is thoughtfully decorated, with a beautiful pool and several spots to relax. We had breakfast there both mornings, and the food was very good. One of our most memorable stays in Colombia!
