Casa Tropicalia - Hostel

The facilities were nice, but the service left me frustrated and it didn't feel worth the money. A neighborhood power cut lasted five hours, and we didn't want to sleep in the heat without air conditioning. When we asked to move hostels, they offered to refund only half the price. There was no apology or update about what was happening. We stayed in the end, but other guests shouted on the balcony until 23:30, close enough to feel as if they were right outside our window. We had to ask them to quiet down. The pool was small and not very appealing, too.

My mom, my sister, and I enjoyed our stay. It had a cozy, colorful hostel feel, and the staff were really sweet and accommodating.

Breakfast was good, the Wi-Fi worked, and the place had a nice vibe, though the rooms are small for four people. The bathroom was really filthy. Music blared until at least 2 am, loud enough to hear it in the rooms like we were in the middle of the party. You don't get a choice between joining in and resting if you're sick or tired. I'd have liked the option to skip the party noise.

The people were lovely, and the rooms were comfortable and nice.
