GHL Hotel Barranquilla

The staff are the main reason this hotel fell short for me. After 200-300 stays, I’ve seen customer service that feels either poorly trained or pushy in the wrong ways, and guest needs don’t seem to come first. I only kept returning because it was close to my son’s school. Loyalty doesn’t count for much here when they’d rather charge a regular guest for a $4 bag of chips than keep them happy. After so many disappointing visits, I’m done and will use Airbnb next time for less stress and better value. GHL, your priorities cost you a long-time customer.

The employees were very nice, and breakfast was included with plenty of choices. The rooftop pool is decent, too. There isn’t much nearby, though, so being on foot doesn’t leave you with much to do.

This is a beautiful hotel, and probably the best one in town. The service is excellent, and it’s close to nearly everything in the city.

The neighborhood is nice, with a big avenue just a block away, and the room itself was spacious, modern, clean, and had a comfortable bed. But street repairs right outside brought jackhammer noise and car horns all day. Staff also came by several times daily to inspect the room, the minibar, or its cleanliness, which felt odd. The towels were worn, poor quality, and sometimes stained. When I left them on the floor to be changed, I could go hours without any and had to call the front desk. Soap, shampoo, and conditioner weren’t replenished either.
