Hotel La Inmaculada

I booked this place for a late arrival in Colombia and messaged the property with my arrival time. They assured me it wouldn’t be a problem. I was traveling alone, and after what happened, this was one of the most unsafe situations I’ve experienced in more than 10 years of travel. I had tried to write a review at the time, but the property blocked me from doing so. I feel I have to warn others. When I arrived late at night, the property gate and door were shut. I rang the buzzer in front of the camera for several minutes while my taxi driver waited, but nobody answered. I called the number, someone picked up, then hung up. Thank goodness my kind taxi driver stayed with me. A man came out of a neighboring building, spoke to him through the locked gate, and let me in. Upstairs, a woman was at the front desk. She’d been sitting there the whole time, with a view of the cameras, and could clearly see me trying to get in and contact the property. I said I was checking in; she looked stressed and searched for my reservation. Then she said someone was in my room and there were no rooms available, even though I’d already paid. She told me to wait for them to leave so housekeeping could clean it. I slept on the lobby couch that night. At 5 a.m. she tapped me on the shoulder and let me go to the room. I’m sure housekeeping hadn’t even changed the sheets. I got a few hours of sleep, then left the next morning. I asked for a refund, but they refused. Leaving a woman alone on the street with nowhere to go because they’d overbooked her room was horrendous and completely negligent.
