The staff kept the air conditioning off whenever we left the key in the room, so after a hot day outside we'd come back to a hot room. The rooms were tiny, the hot water barely worked, and the place felt like a hospital. There's no pool or anything like that. We also had trouble sleeping because loud music carried on until 6 a.m. The hotel sits in a noisy, urban neighborhood that runs into a rural area, with factories around and nothing to do nearby. It's not close enough to the malecon to walk there, and we felt unsafe in the area. There's an armed guard by the door around the clock, something I've never seen at a hotel. I'm not sure how secure the hotel's systems are. After our stay, I started seeing charges from different stores that I hadn't bought anything from. My information was stolen after we stayed there, and I lost hundreds of dollars. I wouldn't recommend this place. I also think they may have had people write fake reviews, because the hotel is substandard.

The hotel is right by the conference center Puerta de Oro, so it was extremely convenient for anyone attending a conference there. It's simple but very well maintained. The staff were polite and always ready to help, which mattered a lot as a non-Spanish speaker. The restaurant food was good and fairly priced, and room service was free. Indoor parking was free too.

From the outside, the hotel looks nice, but the reception service was awful. We got to our room and found that the air conditioning didn't work and the bathroom was dirty, with urine stains. They told us on arrival that TV service wasn't available, but showed no interest in fixing it or offering another solution, even though it's one of the hotel's services. We canceled the reservation, asked for a refund, and went elsewhere. The place doesn't look like its advertised photos.
