Alcira Peña’s attention to every request and the warm smile she gave everyone made a lasting impression on me. I’d never been to Barranquillas, Columbia, so I wasn’t sure what to expect, but my stay at the NH Collection hotel was wonderful thanks to the manager. I returned home with a lovely memory of Barranquillas because of Miss Peña. Thank you and blessings.

The pool furniture was dirty, so we couldn’t use the pool. The staff were very friendly and tried their best, but the hotel’s policies ruined the experience. We spent over 150 USD on laundry for just a few pairs of socks and some shirts, and the minibar and laundry prices felt like outright robbery. We expected prices suited to the modest hotel we thought we’d booked, but this wasn’t anything like a five-star place. In the Colombian Caribbean, it feels like tourists are treated as walking ATMs, and everywhere tries to squeeze as much as possible out of you. I won’t stay at an NH hotel again, and I’d tell others to find a place where they aren’t treated like something to exploit. The pillows were hard as bricks, the double beds were tiny, and there are much better places nearby for the same price. Don’t come here or help hotel chains keep this tourist trap going.

The breakfast was good, with some pleasantly unusual food, and the location suited us since we visit Barranquilla often. The pool water looked neglected and dirty, and the pool and spa could use work. Also, the bent blinds covering the shower made the room look cheap.

I loved the buffet, pool, and spa. The hotel is in a safe, convenient neighborhood, close to Buenavista mall and El Único mall, as well as great places to eat and go out like el Matriarca and Astoria d’amore. A really nice place to stay.

I’ve stayed here five times in 2025 and like the hotel. It really needs Smart TVs, though, so visitors can use Netflix and Amazon Prime.
