Hotel Isla del Encanto

The good parts first: the property was clean and maintained, the bungalows were clean with comfortable beds, the staff were friendly, and the boat ride was fun if that's your thing. But the place looked nothing like the website. Communication before the stay was vague and felt shady. Once the boat drops you off, you're stuck there, and the property is about the size of a football field. It was nearly empty the whole time, with more staff than guests. At one point, we thought we were the only guests on the island. The food was terrible, and birds kept trying to steal it while we ate breakfast. There was a foul smell now and then, and I'm pretty sure the bathrooms drain into the ocean. Music played on the same loop all day. The bungalows are very close to the beach, but the windows don't open, so I couldn't open them at night to hear the ocean. I also suspect someone on staff is posting positive reviews that don't tell the truth. Read the negative reviews before spending your time and money here.

I celebrated my 60th birthday here with 14 friends, and we were all well looked after. The drinks were amazing, the setting was wonderful, and the service was great. I'd love to come back.

The people are kind and try hard to communicate with you. I loved the place. The rooms are clean, practical, and nicely decorated, though there's not much space for clothes.

The setting and rooms were gorgeous, and the pool areas looked beautiful. I loved how secluded and private it felt, and we felt safe the whole time. Service was top notch from everyone, including the restaurant staff. Chris (Christian) was our favorite server. He remembered our names and made sure the kids could find something they liked on the menu. We had a wonderful stay.
