Hotel Prada Sas

It's been almost a year since I stayed there for my birthday, and I've looked the place up a few times since. Google seems to think I keep going back. I wish I could, the atmosphere was so relaxing, and the staff were friendly and courteous and took care of all our needs. Thanks for making my stay in Barranquilla memorable 🙏

I stayed four weeks and felt very safe. You have to be buzzed in through the main door, and there's a guard on duty at night. The staff were welcoming, friendly, and helpful when I needed anything. WiFi was strong throughout, and the shower was comfortable, though it had no hot water in the early morning. The bathroom was fine, but the shower door wouldn't close. The hotel is by the "auto pista", so it's easy to get to, but traffic makes it a bit noisy during the day. That's fairly common in Colombian hotels. For total quiet, look in the pricier barrio's of Medellin. I'd suggest a double room, since it's roomier than a single. The bed wasn't always comfortable, though the warm blanket was. Extra blankets or towels aren't provided by default, so ask if you need them. I had an enjoyable stay and recommend the hotel.

For a cheap stay, the rooms are clean and big, almost like a small master bedroom, and the place is right off the main road so you don't need to go out of your way. Monday through Thursday was quiet enough to rest. On the weekend, though, nearby nightclubs make it hard to sleep, so bring something to help you sleep. That's why I gave it three stars.

I had things stolen from my room, and when I called the police, they were no help. The staff are nasty, and it felt like they treated Americans differently from Colombians. This is apparently a "secret hotel" where Colombians go to cheat on their spouses, and it doesn't feel suited to American visitors or tourists. Don't give them your money. There are much better places.
