We loved the old building, and our double room was gorgeous, with a high ceiling. The bathrooms and bedroom were very clean, and they also do laundry. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. It's a good value hostel in a handy location, near the Gold Museum and nice restaurants. We know La Candelaria isn't considered very safe, though we weren't sure which parts are unsafe. We had no problems during our stay.

The neighborhood was great, and the hostel was amazing: clean, with interesting architecture and a good breakfast. The staff were so kind. Alejandra gave me loads of suggestions for places to go, and Raymond shared South American literature and a great book that gave me a new appreciation for reading fiction.

It's a beautiful place, but too many things annoyed me, so I've changed my review from five stars. The locks on the doors are ridiculous, and the laundry costs too much for such a basic job. If I'm paying $15 to have my clothes washed, I expect them to come back folded and without wrinkles.

We stayed in a room with our own toilet and shower, and it was very clean and well maintained. The hostel is in Candelaria, near downtown, and the staff were friendly and very supportive.

The breakfast was nice, and the showers were good. It was clean and nice, but pretty empty, so I felt a bit on my own. Not the best place for meeting people. The Wi-Fi didn't reach the bedroom, though that's a luxury problem.
