Hotel bh Usaquen

The location next to Usaquén is great, and parking and breakfast are included. The roof terrace is lovely for yoga or meditation in the morning. Breakfast was continental, though, and had little flavor or character, so we stopped eating it after the second day. Staff weren't as friendly or helpful as I'm used to in Colombia. An okay stay, but nothing more.

The rooftop breakfast was a nice part of our stay, with freshly cooked eggs, fruit, and plenty of drinks. The staff were friendly, helpful, and professional, and Usaquén has lots of shops and restaurants close by. Our room was basic, though, and the north corner facing the main avenue got noisy because the windows did little to block traffic. The shower only had a rain setting, which may not suit everyone. There’s a vending machine in the lobby, but I wish they’d left a bottle of water during daily turn-down. For a casual family visit or a quick work trip, I think it’s a solid 3-4 star choice, but not for anyone after luxury. W hotel is down the street for a 5 star stay. If you need a gym, SmartFit is a local chain nearby, and may offer guest passes or weekly memberships.

The service was the worst part. They charged a 19% fee even though I’m not a Colombian resident, despite the law preventing that. Staff gave a string of excuses for the extra charge, and the on-call manager was rude. The place is near Usaquen, but the rooms are very loud because carrera 7a is one of the noisiest streets in the world. The bathrooms, especially the showers, weren’t very clean. Avoid this place!
