Hotel Boutique Embajada de la Feria

I was really upset to end up here. I'd booked in a hurry because I wanted somewhere near the airport, but Bogotá has plenty of beautiful, affordable places. The photos don't show the real place, and I was charged fees different from the price I'd agreed to. The tiny bathroom was filthy, the shower was dirty, and the towels smelled awful. The bedroom walls had disgusting marks, and the bedrooms have interior windows facing the front desk. It was very noisy, and the staff didn't respect that people were trying to rest and could hear everything. There is no handicap access or shuttle. This was the most horrible place I've stayed, and it really needs to disappear.

The place wasn't peaceful either. If your room is near reception, good luck sleeping, because the receptionist talks loudly on the phone all night. I won't recommend or book it again. I reserved through Expedia, whose site said payment through their bank was accepted. I followed the instructions and repeatedly asked whether the account could receive international deposits; they said yes. I deposited the money through Bancolombia, but the account wasn't authorized for international deposits, so the money wouldn't reach it unless the owner went to collect it. Two days later, the Venezuelan man treated my brother very nastily and said he couldn't take his bag unless he paid cash. The money was already there, but the man refused to go to the bank to get it. My brother had to pay cash or pay for the two nights he'd stayed and leave. The advertising was false, and the treatment and manners were poor.

I booked five days through the issue, then was told on arrival that my reservation had been cancelled. They said the promotional price I chose wasn't guaranteed. A terrible experience. Colombia has been a very bad host to me, with rude, arrogant people and customer service. I'll never return.

The beds were disgusting, there was no hot water, and the Wi-Fi didn't work at all. The staff were incredibly rude. Avoid this awful hotel and book somewhere else!
