Hotel Boutique Quinta Camacho

Six nights here and I had a really pleasant stay. I liked the hotel a lot. Hot water was the one thing that could be better, since it wasn't always available.

The staff were kind, and I liked the location. Breakfast was fine, and the room itself was okay, though there was no fridge or way to get hot water. A bottle of water in the room looked included, so we drank it. At checkout, we were accused of taking a Snickers bar, but we hadn't, and hadn't seen any candy or food in the room. We paid the $5 USD for the water we drank, of course. Laundry cost us $33 USD, more than five times what we've paid anywhere else in South America. I messaged during the stay on WhatsApp to say it seemed very expensive, and was just told the prices were posted. Also, in response to the hotel's reply, we never had or saw any Gatorade there.

The fresh breakfast was good, and the staff were so friendly and attentive. They really made us feel looked after, even offering to wait with us when our taxi was taking a long time. It's a lovely little hotel in Chapinero, one of Bogotá's best areas.

The hotel is a short walk from the main Chapinero area, with its restaurants and bars, and it's about 15 minutes on foot to the hippie park. The rooms are a good size and the showers are good, but thin walls meant we heard a lot from the breakfast room just outside our room. Light sleepers should bring ear plugs. Our arranged airport pickup never showed. Taxis were easy to find and cheaper anyway. We arrived at 3am and got into our room early, but nobody mentioned until the next day that this would cost an extra 50% of the nightly rate. Later, the charges were described as taxes plus an additional breakfast charge. We were willing to pay, but the unclear communication was disappointing, so it's something to check ahead if you arrive early.
