Hotel Calantha

I booked well ahead, but the room had an overpowering sewage odor. I couldn’t use the bathroom, so very early on I had to find another hotel where I could shower and rest. Reception offered no help and seemed accustomed to this kind of poor service. I can’t recommend the place.

Simple and comfortable, and the price felt fair for what you get. I paid extra for breakfast and really enjoyed it, especially at that reasonable price.

Water was coming through the ceiling from the room above, the sheets and bathroom were dirty, and the service was awful. At 7 am I went looking for water and nobody answered. One of the worst hotel stays we’ve had.

I’d booked through Booking.com two weeks earlier and had even sent a private message there to explain that my 10 PM flight meant I’d arrive late. Before flying to Bogotá, I called from the airport and was told it was fine, but to call again when I was on my way. Once I did that, they told me they’d taken care of it and I had to find another hotel. I then had to cancel through Booking.com. Being left to improvise accommodation at 1 AM was incredibly inconsiderate. The response was disrespectful, and the lack of professionalism and commitment to service was obvious. Hotels like this shouldn’t be operating.
