Hotel Casa La Embajada

This was the worst experience, and I definitely don’t recommend the hotel. We booked five days online, but on arrival changed the reservation to three days and paid for those three. At checkout, the manager threatened to charge our card for all five days anyway and wouldn’t let us leave. We said we were from Canada, but he didn’t believe us and said he’d make us pay even more because he thought we lived in Colombia. When we showed proof, he accepted that we were from Canada but ignored the evidence without looking at it. We settled the three-day bill with another worker. When we said we’d wait for that worker to confirm our agreement, the manager said it didn’t matter what the worker said because he was the manager and could do whatever he wanted. He pressured us to sign a paper. He had also moved us to a different room without permission when we arrived, from the fifth floor to the second. That room was small, cold, and had no windows. There was terrible noise, including a phone ringing on the first floor. The toilet didn’t flush properly, the sink was broken, and the bathroom smelled awful all the time. It was in poor, disgusting condition and not worth the stay. Being within walking distance of the Embassy was the only thing going for it, and that still doesn’t make this fair.

A nice place.

They aren’t very welcoming to guests.
