Hotel Embajada Real

The plastic-like sheets and pillows were uncomfortable, and the room had poor ventilation with no AC. But the main problem was the noise. We were put in room 105, right by the entrance and reception, where staff and people at the front talked loudly and played music now and then. I kept waking up to noise from the reception office through the night and got no sleep at all. It was a horrible stay, and I’d warn anyone who needs a good night’s rest away from this hotel.

The location near the embassy is excellent, but the room was very cold. When I asked for extra blankets, they didn’t seem happy to provide them. The towels were old, and there was no shampoo.

Even though we had booked a week ahead and received two confirmation emails, the hotel had no room for us when we arrived. They initially couldn’t find our reservation, though eventually they did. We were still turned away.

I only needed a short stay before catching another flight, and called ahead to say I’d be arriving late after getting no reply to my email. The woman told me check-in ended at 7 and she couldn’t guarantee me a room after that. I said I was definitely coming and had a reservation, but she just repeated the same thing and was rude.
