Hotel Espacio 94

Very clean, with polite staff and a great location for the price. The suites have kitchenettes, but they seem set up for guests bringing their own supplies rather than foreign tourists staying a long time.

For the price, this was one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in around the world. We had a twin room with a kitchen for five nights, and everything was excellent. The little kitchen even had an oven. The staff didn’t speak much English, and we don’t speak Spanish. I wish I’d learned some Spanish, though I had no idea I’d end up in Colombia. We managed to communicate anyway, and everyone was so nice. We used Google Translate at the front desk to ask for kitchen items, and they were always happy to help. One funny thing: we put out a “do not disturb” sign every day because we didn’t feel we needed the room cleaned or the towels replaced, but the cleaner came in and cleaned daily anyway. It’s not much of a complaint, just something I found interesting. Uber was easy to get, and Park 93 was about a 10-minute walk, with lots of great restaurants and cafes. We’re two women and walked around at night without any problems. I never felt unsafe there. I highly recommend this place!

The units look nice, and the bathroom is good, but the rooms are cold, with cold bare floors and no heaters or rugs. The couches are tiny and uncomfortable, and the gym is one of the worst. Breakfast is also one of the worst, with few options. Food is a 10-minute walk away, which gets old after a while. Extra guests have to pay each night, which seems silly. They don’t offer two keys, and you have to be buzzed in and out instead of walking into the hotel. That got annoying on a long stay.

A great business-style hotel and apartment, with excellent service and a good breakfast. It would have been five stars, but the lovely kitchen had nothing to cook with. It wasn’t a big issue, since we just ordered in or ate out.
