Hotel Habitel Select

We ended up spending the night here because our flight was cancelled. Honestly, a bench in the terminal might have been better. Service and food were okay, but the rooms were old and run-down, the beds were dirty, and there was just one towel for two people. The worst part was the party next door. Music went on until 3 a.m., and the rooms are so poorly insulated it felt like we were on the dance floor. I didn’t sleep at all. We had extra stress getting to our rebooked flight early, and the shuttle didn’t have enough space for everyone going to the airport.

The room was very nice, though the pillow was too firm. The buffet breakfast was great, and lunch at the on-site restaurant, Zoe, was okay. They brought me a badly made lemonade, but kindly fixed it without charging me when I returned it. The airport shuttle was poorly organized. We waited more than 20 minutes and tried calling the hotel several times without getting through. Eventually a man in a yellow jacket appeared and said he was with the hotel shuttle. We took the 6 a.m. shuttle on a Sunday, and it was full, so arrive early. There’s no reservation system or proper line, and people may cut in ahead even if they arrived later.

We were already at the shuttle when the driver asked for a special ticket. The front desk hadn't given it to me, so I had to run back and get one. We’d gone down 15 minutes early, but the first bus was full and the next didn’t come for another half hour. Then the driver took us to Terminal 1 without asking which terminal we needed. We needed Terminal 2, but he blamed us for not saying so, refused to stop there, and told us to take a taxi or walk. The walk between terminals is even longer than the walk from the hotel to the airport. We nearly missed our early flight, which was the whole reason I booked a hotel with a shuttle. The rooms are shabby, the facilities outdated, and the staff’s attitude was awful. Not worth staying here.

They eventually moved us into a newly renovated room, and the reception staff were kind and professional throughout. That’s why I gave four stars. The first room, though, was a real problem for me because I have asthma. The stucco was peeling from humidity, and there was hair on the floor and bed with dust all over. I’ve worked as a cleaner for years, and it looked like the room hadn’t been properly cleaned for weeks. The staff said it would be cleaned, but when we came back nothing had changed and the cleaner hadn’t shown up. We were then offered another room. When we first arrived, the staff had been very friendly and professional. I have mixed feelings about the hotel.
