Hotel Le Select

I used to go there pretty often, but never again. The general manager was very rude and didn't seem to know anything about customer service. The staff also didn't communicate well with each other. I had a very uncomfortable experience.

After we returned to the hotel on day three, the concierge said we'd have to pay for a fourth night because he thought we'd only paid for three. We hadn't, of course. This came after we paid for the full four-night stay on arrival, and he had already refused to refund us when we wanted to switch hotels. He'd offered to move us from our large room, which smelled musty and dusty and seemed barely cleaned, because the hot water wasn't working, but only if we paid an extra 150,000 Colombian pesos. I asked for my money back, but he wouldn't agree. In the end, he accepted the 50,000 pesos offered. Highly discouraged. They attract bookings with great prices, then try to rip you off however they can.

The hotel itself is nice, and the facilities are comfortable, pleasant, and clean. Breakfast was a disaster, though. Across five mornings, they brought the plates one at a time, and everything arrived very cold. The chocolate was the worst I've ever tasted, served on a filthy, burnt, dripping tray. I'm writing this in case the owners see it. It's unfair to have a nice hotel undermined by the employees when the facilities aren't the problem, the service is. I don't think I'll come back because of breakfast.

The only decent part was breakfast, which was being served at a nearby bakery because the hotel's own place was supposedly closed for "maintenance." The hotel itself was horrible, noisy, and very dirty. On arrival it felt like a motel. The sink was clogged and moldy, the hot water didn't work, and we had to ask the front desk for help. We also had to request more towels because they hadn't given us enough.
